Do You Have It? GUTS

So I asked this question the other day to my facebook friends, and twitter followers, “How far will you go, or have you gone to get the attention of someone you’re interested in? (no alcohol involved).  Out of my 1300 friends and followers, I got about 8 responses! Wow! Is it that deep?  You people don’t wanna share?   Guys - Is it too embarrassing to tell?   Ladies - Have you never tried to begin with?

I think the answer to those questions are surrounded by two things and two things only….

SELF-ESTEEM AND SOCIETY

Society says people should act like this, or act like that.. say this thing, or not say that.  Most of us feel compelled to do things the way that society has always done it.  Will we be condemned if we step outside the box and try something new?  Where is your self-esteem? Where is your confidence?  Where are your guts?

When you think about all the people who claim to have high self-esteem and the most confidence in themselves, you’ll be surprised to see how many of those people are lying to themselves.  Me? Guilty…. I confess.  Yep… I said it.  If you’re gonna be confident, why not be confident in all that you do, and not just a handful of aspects in your life.  For this topic in particular, sooooo many of us are lacking confidence. 

Because society has everyone wrapped around its fingers, thinking a man is supposed to make the first move, many of us females just sit back and wait for it.  Wait for it…………  Considering most of the responses I received from my question were from males, I find this to be especially true.  But really, what if this guy is lacking the same confidence this girl “claims” to have?  Now you have two people desperately attracted to each other, but too afraid to do anything about it.  Somebody’s gotta make the first move! Somebody!

So the point of my rant is simply this……   Many humans believe we control our own self-esteem and confidence.  You would be wrong!  Society rules everything.  

Marinate on that… and the next time you find yourself in a situation where you’re afraid to step outside the box…. take a deep breath, and hold on to my words….

Either you really like me, or you really hate me… There’s usually nowhere in between. I try my best to treat everyone with respect & not gain enemies, but at the end of the day… they’re probably just haters.

I saw this movie on lifetime last weekend, and I swear this is THE most beautiful movie I have EVER seen in my life.  Just when I thought “The Notebook” or “Seven Pounds” made me crybaby…. this movie, “Listen to your Heart” has those two beat by a margin.  I posted the link to the trailer on youtube.  The trailer doesn’t give it justice though, it’s much more to the movie than what it shows.  TRUST me, if you can watch the movie online, netflix, or whatever… DO IT!!!  For all of my hopeless romantics out there… this one’s for you!!  And fellas, you can watch it too… it might teach you a very valuable lesson in life.
